Just finished this fun guy and am loving his bold take on life. At 68×66 inches, he makes a real pop of color and contemporary impact in any space.
This is a small sample of my solo Divergent Impulses at Calloway Fine Art & Consulting in Washington, DC, available online through June 5. All new and exciting figurative work out of my imagination. Most of the 15 paintings featured in the show are 36×48 canvases. I think they make any room in the home or office more interesting.

You’ll find 15 artworks as well as a video featuring a visit with me behind the scenes in my studio.
It’s important to see artwork in a room to envision how it might look to live with every day. I prefer art that commands attention, catches at a glance, and doesn’t blend into the wallpaper. This sitting room is made vibrant and relevant with interesting, dynamic paintings filled with color and attitude. It looks young and filled with potential. Josie – 48″x36″ painting by Washington DC artist Leslie M. Nolan
This painting proved to be a joy. A young woman in a hoodie, she sometimes appears Madonna-like, then later as a wide-eyed gamine. Either way she exudes an arresting, fresh quality that could be every lass. Available in the studio.

Washington DC Artist Leslie Nolan Gerard, 40″x30″
I like the way this painting tackles the feeling of a man perfectly adapted to his surroundings, fully at ease and intent on his business, dealing with whatever needs to be accomplished despite or because of the weather. It exemplifies the spirit of individuals who are confident and capable — self-actualized. Qualities I greatly admire.
Hal, 40×30 inch painting by Leslie Nolan
I’m honored to be representing Calloway Fine Arts & Consulting with this painting and one other (see the previous post) at the Current Art Fair in Richmond, VA. The fair runs from October 24-27 — a perfect drive during Fall. These exciting contemporary artworks would look terrific in any space. For more information: http://www.currentartfair.com
Chris, 48×36 inches painting on canvas by Washington DC artist Leslie Nolan
Just completed this fun painting. I love the feeling of it. The model exudes confidence and has the aura of a risk taker who can be relied upon without fail. Part of my new Arctic series, this artwork captures the dichotomy between isolation and camaraderie, which is also the essence of adventure in the North, and of being at ease in one’s surroundings.
