Many thanks to Gallery Director Rose O’Donnell and Assistant Director Katie Andril (and her predecessor Katie Scharma) for their top-notch support throughout the two-year process of submission, jurying, acceptance, selection of artwork, and installation.  It’s an honor to be there.

Checking out LED lighting today in preparation for installing the show at (e)merge art fair, Washington, DC in a week.  Touchstone Gallery will be in room 226 of the site venue, The Capitol Skyline Hotel, 10 “I” Street, SW.  VIP opening Oct 2, open to the public Oct 3-5.

I’ll be sharing Touchstone space with co-exhibitors Ai-Wen Wu Kratz and Pete McCutchen, both with very strong contemporary viewpoints. Exhibit and fair should be a knock-out.  Plan to join us. I’ll be there.

(e)merge art fair Exhibitors Announced

(e)merge art fair

I’m in good company along with Ai-Wen Wu Kratz and Pete McCutchen representing Touchstone Gallery at the (e)merge art fair in DC October 2 – 5.  Although I received notice of our acceptance last month, the fair just announced the final list of all exhibitors.  It’s an impressive list of artists and galleries from around the world, the nation and from Washington, DC itself

In May and June 2014 I was teamed up with fellow artist Susan Makara for “Vivid” a two-artist exhibit at BlackRock Center for the Arts in Germantown, MD.  What a fabulous building with tall walls, space to breathe, and high windows.  It really showed off the artwork to full advantage.  Our show a fine review by Washington Post art critic Mark Jenkins.

Thanks to Gallery Director Anne Burton and Executive Director Krista Bradley for the opportunity and for their support.  In addition, my appreciation to the members of the Germantown Art League for hanging and staffing the opening reception.
